VOTE ON MAY 5, 2018
Working with the Board of Trustees, teachers, administrators, and community members from across the district, the facilities committee developed a list of requested items to consider for inclusion in a 2018 bond package. Pottsboro ISD has been evaluating current facilities, equipment, ongoing enrollment growth and district priorities with the Board of Trustees to collectively compile a list of items that reflect responsible stewardship and a forward-thinking mindset.
Proposition One : $27,000,000
New Elementary School on Franklin Street Site $23,800,000
District-Wide Technology & Security Upgrades $1,400,000
Renovation/Expansion of the Athletic/Training Facility at Pottsboro High School $1,800,000
Proposition Two : $4,800,000
Construction of a safe room / storm shelter at each campus $4,800,000
There are two propositions for the 2018 bond election. Proposition One includes a new elementary school along with technology upgrades & renovations of athletics at the High School. Proposition Two includes construction of safe rooms / storm shelters at each campus
What is a bond? A bond is similar to a home mortgage in many ways. It is a contract to repay borrowed money with an interest rate over time. Bonds are sold by school districts to competing lenders to raise funds to pay for the costs of construction, renovations and equipment.
